Artistic Finish, Time Worn Surface & Cushioned Edge
The “Plantation Collection” features a surface completely crafted by hand. The finish is acquired by many complex hand applied steps that result in accenting the extreme depth and clarity, and brings out the true beauty of this wood. The time worn surface is not achieved by scraping the wood, but by sculpting it in a manner that gives the appearance of a surface that has truly been subject to many years of traffic and use. The cushioned edge is completely random and is done completely by hand. Each plank is altered in a manner that no two are the same. These three hand performed steps result in the highest crafted product the industry has to offer.

Construction
The “Plantation Collection” is an engineered solid hardwood floor. Other engineered products in the market use a soft plywood core to save costs. By using hardwood for all 3 layers, the “Plantation Collection's” middle and bottom layers provide maximum stability to the top layer reducing negative movement. This is especially important when working with sawn cut, wide board material. In addition, the “Plantation Collection's” layers are bonded with the strongest waterproof glue the industry has to offer.

Finish
The “Plantation Collection” features a “natural oil finish” that is hand applied in California. The oil finish offers an extremely low-luster natural look. The finish is based on natural vegetable compounds, so while other products advertise low VOC's (volatile organic compounds) we offer no VOC's. That's correct, our finish has zero VOC's. Through molecular bonding, the oil adheres with the first microns of the wood. Compare the finish on the “Plantation Collection” to other machine coated floors and you will see the difference. A machine finished floor has an artificial, plastic look that can often distort the natural beauty of wood. With our finish, the beauty of the wood is enhanced rather than covered. In addition to its beauty, this finish offers extreme durability against wear and damage. Another great benefit to our finish is the ability to repair damage such as scratches and wear when they do occur. Most machine finishes cannot be repaired when scratched. “Green / Environmental” Benefits
The “Plantation Collection” is manufactured using PEFC (Program for the Endorsement of Forest Certification) certified lumber. Before this lumber can receive this certification it is subjected to a rigorous assessment. What is the PEFC? The PEFC is a non-profit, non-government organization which promotes sustainable managed forests through certification. In addition the PEFC is the world's largest certification system. For more information about the PEFC visit www.pefc.org.

Installation
Because of our special construction the “Plantation Collection” offers the maximum flexibility when it comes to installation. This floor can be nailed, glued, stapled, or floated and safely installed over radiant heat. See installation guidelines for complete details.

Moldings
The Plantation Collection is a complete program equipped with pre-finished matching moldings. These moldings are produced in a manner to offer the best match possible. All moldings are made with the same specie as the flooring.
